As a team we have worked with many technologies. But when we came across Flutter, we were convinced we had a winner for building an MVP. What works seamlessly with Flutter is Firebase and Google Cloud.
With the objective to get an MVP out to clients ASAP, we believe that spending time developing different codebases such as Swift for iOS, Kotlin for Android, and React for Web is not efficient.
While Flutter framework makes sense at the beginning, there is no convincing argument that when your company reaches the unicorn stage you cannot continue with Flutter as your core framework.

01 MVP specification
The first thing we need to do is to have a high level understanding of what the MVP should offer. We will guide you in formulating the product to have a cost efficient solution that achieves your objectives.
02 UI/UX Design
We have UI/UX Design teams whom we work with on an ongoing basis. However, we know that founders have particular ideas of how their product should look like. We will therefore work with your design files, ideally in Figma.
03 Implementation of the UI
Once the UI/UX design is agreed on together with the functionality of the MVP, we will develop the first version of the App without integrations.
04 Integrations
With the UI developed, we will proceed to the integration phase where authentication, database, analytics, ads, payments, etc. are implemented in the App.
05 Publishing to App Store
The final phase of the project is the publication of the App to the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

As a startup founder, choosing the right team to deliver your MVP is crucial. Whether your own resources, or external funds, or a mix of both you want to ensure that the team building your MVP is capable of doing this and that they will do this in the most cost effective way. Furthermore, you should also minimize the amount of technical debt you incur in the process!

Why do you advocate Flutter
Unless your product is predominantly a browser based product, you will need to develop iOS, Android and Web Apps. The need to develop iOS and Android apps is self explanatory because the world is divided between Android and iOS. As for Web, you should be able to give your customers the same experience as on a mobile app when they visit your website as they will be doing so most likely on their mobile. Flutter is the ideal framework unifying these as you have the ability to create a Web App that looks identical to your iOS or Android App to keep a unified brand image across multiple platforms.
Do I need servers?
Not really! Firebase allows you to build a serverless architecture allowing you to minimize devops and focus on building your product rather than upgrading and maintaining servers all the time. If you do need servers we would advocate running these as microservices to connect to for specific tasks but leave the overall architecture in the firebase serverless framework.
Why do you advocate rent over build?
When you are going for your MVP you want to focus all your energy to getting customers and finding the right product market fit. You do not want to deal with writing another chat program (unless that's the core idea of your MVP) or an image compression algorithm when these can be rented for very minimal cost. The time to build your own chat, or image processing will come only after reaching an order of 100,000 users and even then it may be more efficient to stick with external providers.
What type of timeframe should I budget for an MVP
The most important part of the MVP is locking down the functionality and design. You shall start with the fewest possible screens and utmost simplicity. Changing things during the building process adds exponential time and we would strongly advise reigning in the desire to make frequent changes while the code is being written. If you have a solid idea of what you want to build you should realistically have a product within 3 months.
